July 4th Travel: What You Need To Know

Posted

It's going to be a record-breaking weekend for holiday travel with 5 and a half percent more Tennesseans hitting the road this year than last year to celebrate the Fourth of July.

To assist with traffic congestion, the Tennessee Department of Transportation is suspending lane closures from noon Friday until Thursday 6 a.m.

Tuesday afternoon is forecasted to be heaviest traffic day.

Triple A is expected to rescue more than 300,000 drivers.

Some workers may still be out on the roads over the next few days. Remember work zone fines will be in place when they are present.
