One of several teens whom police say escaped a detention center in Donelson has been apprehended.
Officials with Metro Police said 16-year-old Kequan Waller was taken into custody Thursday morning after someone spotted him walking on South 10th and Shelby Avenue.
A massive police search was launched over the weekend after the teens escaped the Stones River Academy detention facility on Stewart's Ferry Pike.
Police identified the escaped teens as:
- Cornelius Moore, 17, of Shelby County
- Clifton Douglas, 16, of Shelby County
- Kequan Waller, 16, of Nashville
- Dunken Thornton, 17, of Putnam County
- Victor Hernandez, 16, of Nashville
As of Thursday morning, Cornelius Moore was still on the run.
Metro police said the juveniles overpowered the guard sometime before 2:30 a.m. Saturday.
Officers believed the juveniles first tried to choke the guard before hitting her over the head with a metal bar. That's when they allegedly stole the guard's keys and escaped.
The security guard was transported to Summit Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
