NASHVILLE, Tenn. - School is back in session and Kroger workers are helping make sure kids have the materials they need to succeed.

All 19 Kroger stores in Davidson County have been taking school supply donations from customers and associates for the past three weeks.

Tuesday crews delivered those donations to LP Pencil Box.

LP Pencil Box allows Davidson County-Metro teachers to come and shop for school supplies for their class twice per school year free of charge.

"Unfortunately so many students come back to school without the supplies that they need and what happens is teachers dip into their own pocket to purchase those supplies," said Kroger Spokesperson Melissa Eads.

In all Kroger delivered close to three thousand boxes of supplies to LP Pencil Box Tuesday.
