Democratic lawmakers in the Tennessee House of Representatives have called for a three-year moratorium on results from TN Ready tests after the State Department of Education announced nearly 10,000 tests were scored incorrectly by Questar.
"We need to make sure that these scores have no impact on any student, on any teacher, on any school," Representative Mike Stewart said.
TN Ready results were not used against teachers or students last year due to problems with the administering company, Measurement Inc.
Due to the continued problems, numerous lawmakers have called for investigations into TN Ready and the issues surrounding it, and on Thursday, the moratorium was called for.
"All the decisions that we make because of these tests, those need to be put on hold immediately," Stewart said.
No official steps have been taken toward instating a moratorium, and the Department of Education hasn't said whether they plan to count this year's scores toward student and teacher evaluations.
