A new, non-partisan effort to raise voting awareness about online voter registration in Middle Tennessee has kicked off.
On Monday, Democratic Representative Jim Cooper and Republican State Senator Steve Dickerson both spoke to the public for "Project Register" and aimed to raise voter registration rates throughout the Mid-State.
Tennessee has been dead last in voter turnout and 40th in voter registration, and, for comparison, Kentucky was ranked 14th in voter turnout.
