A local company has launched a new app in hopes of taking a few more cars off Nashville's roads.
The app "Hytch" allows commuters traveling in Nashville to carpool with someone else using the app.
The app's creators debuted the new technology at the Transportation Summit Thursday. Creators said it works a lot like Tinder.
Users swipe left if someone's commute doesn't work for you, and swipe right if it does.
After that you they can then chat to discuss a pickup time and even payment if they choose.
"It helps you build a network of people who live in your same neighborhood, who might go to work in the same general area you go to work and we're going to be able to bring carpooling into the digital age," said Mark Cleveland.
