Local farmers have started an effort to help those affected by the deadly wildfires across the Plain states.
Wildfires have devastated farms and ranches in portions of Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas.
Farmers in Dickson County will begin sending aid on Thursday to help feed the surviving cattle who have nothing to eat. They’ve gathered thousands of dollars’ worth of hay and plan to deliver it to Kansas farmers.
They said although trucking it more than 800 miles will be expensive, helping fellow farmers will be worth it.
