A busy Nashville street was shut down as part of a way to promote walking and biking.
Those involved with “Walk Bike Nashville” said 12th Avenue South was the site of the city's second "Open Streets" event on Sunday.
More than two miles of the road was closed off to cars, making it easier for walkers and bikers to navigate the area.

The group helped organize the event as a way to encourage people to be active and to visit small businesses in the area.
“Yeah, I think it’s unique,” Nora Kern said. “Most people have never been in the street outside of their cars. It’s fun to be in the middle of the street and hanging out.”
The event wrapped up Sunday evening. Mayor Megan Barry's office was also a sponsor of the event.
