Two women were injured in a rollover crash involving two vehicles in east Nashville.

The collision was reported early Tuesday morning at the intersection of South 5th Street and Woodland Street.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the driver of a Nissan SUV ran a flashing red light and collided with a Volkswagen Jetta.

Police said the car had the flashing yellow light at the time of the crash.

Two women, one from each vehicle, were hurt and taken to TriStar Centennial Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. A child was traveling in the car with his mother but was not hurt.

Officers blocked off a portion of the area while they worked to remove the debris. The road has since reopened.
