Two suspects remained at large after shots were fired near East Nashville.

The incident happened Wednesday afternoon near Douglas Avenue and Ellington Parkway.

According to police, a man in a gray Nissan Altima was at a Shell gas station when the two suspects pulled up in a black Nissan Altima and started shooting at him.

The man then tried to drive away, but when he ran into a light pole, he then got out of the car and began firing back at the two men in the black Altima.

As the two in the black Altima drove away, they continued to fire shots, hitting an empty vehicle parked at the Shell station.

Authorities said a police helicopter followed the black Altima, which headed toward Green Hills.

Police said the black Altima stopped at McGavock High School then proceeded to a parking garage in Green Hills.

Those two men remained on the run.

The man in the gray Altima was taken into custody after marijuana was found inside his vehicle.

Officials confirmed there were no injuries.

Anyone with information on this crime or the suspects’ whereabouts has been urged to contact police.
