A woman has died from the injuries she suffered in a fiery crash near Brentwood.
Officials with the Metro Nashville Police Department said 26-year-old Lindsey Shoenberger died Monday in the hospital.
She was in a vehicle that was involved in a crash on Old Hickory Boulevard near Woodland Hills Drive in the Nippers Corner area.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the head-on collision happened shortly before 10 p.m.
Police said a driver in a blue 2010 Nissan Altima in the westbound lanes of OHB veered across three lanes of traffic and hit Shoenberger head on.
Inside the 2013 Nissan Altima along with Shoenberger was nine-month-old daughter as well. The child was in a rear child safety seat, and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The driver that hit them was identified as 44-year-old Matoufa Sayed of Frontier Lane. She was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition.
Officials said there was no indication of alcohol or drug involvement at the scene. The preliminary investigation indicated that excessive speed on the part of Sayed may be a contributing factor.
