30th Anniversary Of Teen's Disappearance Marked

Posted

Saturday marked the 30th anniversary of the disappearance of Martha Leanne Green who went missing on April 15, 1987 from White Bluff.

Known as Leanne, she was 17 years old at the time she disappeared, and three decades later, her family has still been searching for answers.

An age-progressed photo was created to show what Leanne would look like now.

She and her twin brother were headed home when they ran out of gasoline. An older couple stopped to help, and Leanne chose to stay with the vehicle while her brother went with the couple to get some gas.

That trip took about 12 minutes, but when they returned to the car, Leanne was gone.

A Florida inmate confessed to killing Leanne, but he was unable to recall just where he had buried her.

That inmate was murdered in prison, but he’s still considered a viable suspect.
