Police made four arrests after multiple suspects were allegedly involved in car burglaries.
Authorities said someone reported several suspects in the city’s 4th Avenue parking garage checking door handles on parked vehicles around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
A description of the suspects was given to police, and the group was located. That’s when seven or eight suspects fled on foot.
Officials said they captured four of the suspects. Two were identified as 18-year-old Lavarious McClain and 18-year-old Excel Modena. Two juveniles were also arrested and charged with vehicle burglary.
McClain and Modena were charged with burglary to a motor vehicle, resisting stop, halt, frisk, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. They were each being held in the Williamson County Jail on a $4,000 bond. Both have been scheduled to appear in court at 1 p.m. February 18.
Authorities confirmed an undetermined number of vehicles were believed to have been entered by this group of suspects.
Almost all were broken into when the suspects found the car doors unlocked, but one victim’s vehicle had a shattered window.
Many of the stolen items were recovered. Officials said additional arrests have been expected in this case.
