Four Kentucky National Guard soldiers were arrested following a sexual assault investigation.

Reports stated the Kentucky State Police began the investigation in Calloway County. They responded to the Murray-Calloway Hospital around 10 a.m. on June 3 in regards to a report of sexual assault.

After a preliminary investigation, authorities discovered the four suspects were preparing for a weekend deployment. The victim was allegedly provided alcohol before reportedly being sexually assaulted by the four suspects.

They have been identified as 25-year-old Anthony R. Tubolino, of Auburn, Kentucky; 19-year-old Tyler A. Hart, of Bowling Green, Kentucky; 21-year-old Austin L. Dennis, of Munfordville, Kentucky; and 22-year-old Jacob F. Ruth, of Munfordville, Kentucky.

Tubolino was charged with second degree rape, second degree sodomy, and third degree unlawful transaction with a minor.

Hart was charged with first degree sexual abuse and second degree sodomy.

Dennis and Ruth were both charged with second degree sodomy.

“Sexual assault is not only a reprehensible act, it is a criminal act. First and foremost our goal is to support the victim of this incident. It is damaging to our morale, to our readiness and to our combat ability. It has no place in the Kentucky National Guard,” said Major General Stephen Hogan, Kentucky’s adjutant general. “It goes against all the values we hold dear as service members in the U.S. Military. The men and women of our organization are our greatest resource and we will do all we can to support the victim.”

All four were booked into the Calloway County Jail. The investigation remained ongoing. Anyone with information has been asked to contact the Kentucky State Police at 270-856-3721 or anonymously at 1-800-222-5555.
