Five people have been charged in a burglary ring that stretched through four counties.
Officials with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office said the burglars have been accused of stealing about $150,000 worth of property.
Those charged included Brittany King, John Paul Williams, Steven Reed, Jonathan Victory, and Danny Phillips.
Authorities said the investigation began when authorities from the four counties determined multiple burglaries were linked to the suspects.
Those counties included Rutherford, Williamson, Bedford, and Coffee.
Evidence was gathered which led to the five individuals.
“It was determined that the group needed to be apprehended immediately in order to stop the many burglaries that they had been suspected of committing and in hopes of recovering stolen property,” Detective Steve Brown said.
There were at least two burglaries in Rutherford County, multiple in Williamson County, and ten to 15 in Coffee and Bedford counties.
A search was conducted on the suspects’ room at the Rodeway Inn and Suites in Smyrna.
Multiple suspects were taken into custody in that room. Authorities confirmed one of the suspects had her one-year-old daughter with her.
After interviews with the suspects, detectives were able to find the stolen property, including rifles and pistols, tools, electronics, and jewelry.
Detectives have started working with victims to identify the property.
Victory, age 20, has been charged with aggravated burglary and was being held on a $10,000 bond in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
Reed, age 23, was being held on a $14,000 bond. Officials confirmed hearings have been set for next week in General Sessions Court.
