81-Year-Old Grandmother Arrested After Brawl

Posted

An 81-year-old great-great-grandmother is facing assault charges after a yard sale brawl involving three generations of her family.

Mae Moses was arrested Wednesday and spent an hour and a half in jail before being released on bond.

Moses says she was shopping for items -- not looking for a fight -- when she went with her family Friday to the Athens Regional Park.

Police say that 58-year-old Marilyn Miller, a woman that had been arguing with Moses's daughter on Facebook, was at the park. Moses confronted her and a fight broke out.

Police say Miller stabbed the woman multiple times before Moses's great-granddaughter, 19-year-old Angela Miller, jumped in.

Moses says she only pulled the woman's hair.

All three women face assault charges. It isn't clear if they have attorneys.
