The buyer of A-Game Sportsplex in Franklin has canceled its agreement due to “delays and uncertainties" with the project.
Al. Neyer, a Cincinnati, Ohio commercial real estate developer and design-builder, had agreed to buy the Cool Springs athletic facility. On Friday, it was announced that the deal had fallen through.
Molly North, president & CEO, Al. Neyer said in a statement:
“After months of trying to reach agreements with the property owners of A-Game, and considerable expense and delay, we have decided to terminate our contract to purchase the site. Continued uncertainties about existing tenant leases, lawsuits and other deterrents had a tremendously negative impact on the timetable we envisioned to redevelop the property.”
The developer originally planned to acquire the A-Game facility in December 2015 and convert it into office spaces.
Dozens of parents, children and coaches rallied behind the complex in February after it closed unexpectedly.
