The downtown Nashville jail has been emptied as all inmates have been moved.
The final 300 high-risk inmates made the move to the south Nashville location this weekend.
Now, the downtown CJC has been set to be demolished and a completely rebuilt.
In the past it's been prone to flooding, plumbing problems, and elevator mishaps.
Once it's rebuilt, the new facility will include a separate treatment center for the mentally-ill.
