A Nashville firefighter has allegedly been assaulted on two different occasions by the same man he was trying to help.

Steven Lloyd Hall was arrested for allegedly assaulting a first responder called to check on his welfare.

Nashville Firefighter Corey Powell tried waking up Hall, who was passed out drunk on the side of Highway 100 near Highway 96.

The affidavit stated Hall then grabbed Powell, put him in a choke hold and squeezed his neck.

Powell was able to escape after punching Hall in the face.

NewsChannel 5 has learned that Hall also assaulted Powell on May 26 under similar circumstances.

On that date, police said Hall tried walking into traffic and punched the same firefighter who pulled him out of the path of a fast-moving car.
