While the Metro Nashville area was spared from the worst of the snow and ice from Wednesday’s storm, areas along the Kentucky state line were hit hard.
Crews were able to clear most of the slush and ice from major roadways; however many side streets and parking lots were still covered in ice.

NewsChannel 5 reporter Matthew Torres was also in Clarksville where the morning commute could be treacherous for some.
Drivers on Interstate 24 were deceived several times by roads that seemed clear.
Two truck drivers had to be assisted by Tennessee Department of Transportation crews after getting stuck on an off ramp, which had to be closed for the better part of an hour.

An official with TDOT the said crews are putting down brine in Clarksville and along Interstate 40. They’ve been paying special attention to bridges and overpasses.
So far, no major issues have been reported. However, drivers were urged to pay attention for black ice.
