Arrest Made After Attempted Pharmacy Robbery

A man has been arrested after claiming he had a weapon and attempting to rob a pharmacy.

Officers with the Lebanon Police Department responded to the Walgreens in the 1300 block of West Main Street around 6 p.m. Tuesday in reference to a possible robbery.

A witness told authorities a man had jumped over the counter in the pharmacy area and attacked the staff.

Officials said they found a white man behind the counter in the restricted area. The suspect then grabbed a female pharmacist and told police, “Do not come back here!”

Authorities said the woman was able to pull away from him. Officers made their way through a side door and ordered the suspect on the floor.

 

 

MEDIA RELEASEFor Immediate Release – February 26, 2016On February 23, 2016, at approximately 6:00pm, officers responded to 1303 W. Main St., Walgreens, in reference to a possible robbery. The complainant stated that a man jumped over the counter in the pharmacy area and attacked the staff. Upon officers’ arrival, they witnessed a white male behind the restricted area of the pharmacy. The suspect grabbed a female Pharmacist and stated “do not come back here!”. The Pharmacist managed to pull away from the suspect while officers made entrance through the side door. Officer Bill Kennedy ordered the suspect to the floor. He did not comply at first, but eventually did comply. Sgt. Kelley took the suspect in to custody without incident.The suspect was identified as Danny Keen (54, McMinnville). During the incident, Keen stated that he had a gun and "…will blow your brains out if you push my buttons". Keen forced the Pharmacist to retrieve a bottle of Oxycodone. Keen took several of the pills during the incident. Upon arrest, no weapon was found.Keen was transported to the Wilson County Jail and charged with Especially Aggravated Robbery.

At first, according to reports, the man refused, but he eventually complied and was taken into custody without incident.

Police have identified the man as 54-year-old Danny Keen.

During the incident, Keen allegedly said he had a gun and would “blow your brains out if you push my buttons.”

He also forced a pharmacist to get a bottle of Oxycodone, and he took several pills during the incident.

Officials have confirmed no gun was found when Keen was arrested.

Keen was taken to the Wilson County Jail and charged with especially aggravated robbery.
