Cheatham County Sheriff's officials said a 911 call made to dispatch indicated the fire may be suspicious.
Fire officials said the occupants of the home were able to make it out. One person was treated at the scene and then taken to an area hospital for evaluation.
An official said the fire was difficult to get under control due to the rural location of the home. There were no hydrants in the area, so crews had to bring in water.
The cause was not yet available.
They were expected to remain on the scene for several hours.
