Black Friday has become a tradition for many families.
The Walter family said for them it starts right after the Thanksgiving meal.
"We shopped last night until 1 o'clock, the stores closed, and then this morning we came to Cool Springs Galleria," said Tina Walters.
She and her family were able to grab some amazing deals.
"We got a 70 inch TV for $898 dollars," Tina said.
Thanks to Gray Thursday, shopping on Black Friday has not been as bad as we once thought. The parking was not as packed, and shoppers can usually get in and out of the mall without major problems.
While not everyone was as lucky as the Walter's family, some said the shopping experience hasn't always been about grabbing the best deal. For some it's also about getting into the holiday spirit.
"You know the smells, like you smell the pumpkin, apple cinnamon, and that kind of stuff, lights and all of that," said Jackie Johnson, who has enjoyed the Christmas decorations as much as the shopping.
