A Clarksville pastor known for his 'Jesus signs' has continued to spread his mission despite dealing with cancer.
Pastor Jimmy Terry of the Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church was diagnosed with prostate cancer about three months ago.
"I don't give it a thought. I don't even think about it until someone says something about it," Pastor Jimmy Terry told NewsChannel 5.
He has been the pastor of the church for more than 30 years and gained recognition for signs that said "Christmas is all about Jesus" on them.
The passion to spread the message reached new heights two years ago when he ordered $100,000 worth of signs by putting a second mortgage on his house. The decision would leave him in debt worth tens of thousands of dollars but he's not worried.
"You are not fearful of working for Jesus. You got to believe in him, and I believe him with all my heart. It's important to lift up his holy and righteous name," Terry said.
Since then, he has been receiving donations from the community and has continued to order more signs with hopes to get them planted throughout the country.
Despite the cancer, Terry has planned to continue his work as long as he can.
"People are sad for me, but I'm not phased at all because of my walk with Christ," Terry added.
Anyone can contribute by writing a check with "church" signs" on it to Hilldale Baptist Church in Clarksville.
