No major injuries were reported after a driver crashed into a home on Shackleford Road.
The incident happened around 4:30 a.m. Sunday. Reports stated the driver came down a hill on Belmont Boulevard, went airborne, flew over someone’s yard, and crashed into the side of the home.
The wreck knocked out one of the pillars on the porch and did a lot of damage.
According to police, the driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Reports stated the driver smelled of alcohol.
The homeowner said this was the seventh or eighth crash that has happened on their property in the 17 years they’ve lived there.
No one inside the home was injured. Further details were not released as the investigation remained ongoing.
