A church family came together to pray for a man we first introduced you to Friday.
Lawrence McKinney spent more than 30 years behind bars for a crime he didn't commit.
Many have said he has had a lot to be mad about, but somehow he's managed to stay positive.
New DNA testing proved he was innocent, finally leading to his release, but many years later he still hasn't been compensated by the State.
Sunday night, his church family in Lebanon held a prayer service in his honor. They have been standing beside him and demanding that the State take notice of their mistake.
"When they told him in his prison cell that he was innocent, they let him out eight months later, that’s crazy,” said Pastor John Hunn. “Then when they let him out, they gave him $75. Then after they let him out, they gave him a Social Security check, a lump sum for being in there, and then they wrote back and said they gave him too much. And they said, ‘You owe us $13,000. We’re going to garnish your wages,’ and they did."
During the service McKinney was gifted $1,000 to help with expenses.
