Contraband Stopped From Entering Riverbend

Posted

Staff with the Tennessee Department of Corrections has stopped an attempt to bring contraband into the Riverbend Maximum Security Institution.

On February 22, guards intercepted multiple items including marijuana, loose tobacco, cell phones, SIM cards, and USB chargers among other items, stopping them from entering the prison.

The investigation linked the contraband to offenders assigned to work on the prison's landscaping crew.

Agents quickly determined those offenders conspired with outside sources to smuggle contraband into the prison.
