Officials with Metro police said the driver of a Nissan car rear-ended a green Honda Civic and from there, served into the shoulder.
That car then collided with a black Nissan SUV, causing it to roll over onto the shoulder and strike the guardrail.
A fourth vehicle, described as another SUV, got caught and hit something in front of it.
Westbound lanes were closed for at least 30-minutes as a result of the wreck, as traffic was diverted to alternate routes.
The roadway has since reopened but continued causing delays throughout the morning.
It’s unknown if area fog reported earlier in the day played a factor in the crash.
