Vanderbilt LifeFlight officials are urging fans from around the world visiting the CMA Music Festival this week to be careful to avoid illness and injury.

Heat-related illness is the biggest concern of medical workers. Doctors say it's important that fans know when to call it quits for the day and for people to get help at one of the first-aid tents if they experience dizziness, headache, nausea or vomiting. Officials are also reminding fans to stay hydrated, wear comfortable footwear to avoid blisters, use sunburn protection and avoid drinking too much alcohol.

Medical officials say more than 100 Vanderbilt EMTs, paramedics and registered nurses will work the four-day festival, including medics riding through the events on Segways and bicycles. First-aid tents with cooling stations will be available for fans.
