A brand new pizza place has thrown open its doors.
Donatos Pizza located in Midtown Nashville hosted a VIP preview party Saturday night.
Visitors got to try out their award-winning pizza, and many were wondering what made the restaurant choose Nashville.
“You know we've been looking at Nashville for a long time,” said Tom Krouse, of Donatos Pizza. “Couple of reasons. One, it’s a lot like Columbus in a lot of ways where we started. The people, the hospitality, the food. It’s a great market. It’s growing, of course, and we want to be a part of it. Great food town, too, and you know our pizza is, we like to think, is a real cut above. So Nashville’s perfect.”
They said the founder started the pizza company back in 1963 when he was just 19 years old.
