A portion of Donelson Pike was briefly closed after a driver crashed into several power poles.
The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Royal Parkway.
It’s unclear what caused the crash. However, witnesses said another car may have been involved.
Mark Allee was on his way home from an Uber trip to Mt. Juliet when he saw a truck side swipe the victim's vehicle.
“The guy in the truck comes flying hits the other guy [and] hits the poles one after another. [Pointing to the wreck] this happened,” he said.
At least two of the poles snapped in half. The driver was taken to the hospital but is expected to be okay.
The person’s identity was not known.
No power outages were reported in the area, but Nashville Electric Service crews would remain on the scene to repair the damaged poles.
