So far in 2016, the number of deadly crashes in Rutherford County has nearly doubled compared to 2015.
Law enforcement in the county held a safety fair Saturday to teach crash prevention tips.

Certified safety technicians checked car seats to see if they were properly installed.
School Resource officers used simulators to teach the risks of texting and driving.
Plus, those with the Tennessee Governor's Highway Safety Office brought their Seat Belt Convincer to simulate the impact of a crash.

Officers said they hope teaching the risks of distracted and unsafe driving will reduce the number of wrecks and fatalities.
