Festival goers braved the heat to attend the annual Elliston Place Street Fest in Nashville.

People came out Saturday to support live music and celebrate Exit/In's 46th anniversary.

All week long, organizers started preparing for the heat. They handed out tons of water and fans during the street fest.

There were places to stand in the shade to keep people cool. Organizers tried to keep themselves cool, as well.

“For us running the event, ah man it was brutal,” Henry Pile said. “Bring an extra pair of shirts, extra socks, extra shorts. It was definitely a trying day for us!”

The event first took place in the late 70’s and early 80’s. Organizers said they hope next year's event will be much cooler, but they added they’ll continue to make it an annual tradition.
