The mother of a 19-year-old shooting victim returned to Nashville six months after her son was killed in hopes of finding answers in the case.
Cameron Selmon, of Memphis, was shot and killed in October of last year. Police said there was fight over a dice game on the campus of Tennessee State University.
Two bystanders were injured when several shots were fired the outside courtyard of the Floyd-Payne Campus Center.
Half a year later, Selmon’s family is still seeking justice.
“It’s still heartbreaking to not have answers after almost six months. We know someone out there has the key that can make or break this case just by coming forward,” said his mother, Stacie Payne.
Detectives on the case said they've received a number tips but have been unable to make an arrest. There were nearly 50 people around the area when the shooting happened, adding to the frustration.
"I have been shocked that no one has wanted to come forward to speak to us about this case," Detective Melody Saxon said.
Surveillance video also captured the shooting. The images are grainy, but police were able to determine there were two shooters.
But, out of four cameras in the area, only one was working at the time.
"It's very frustrating because if there were four cameras, we may not have been waiting for so long," Payne said.
NewsChannel5 reached out to the spokesperson TTSU, but he declined to speak on camera. He did say the University has created a 10-point safety plan with the goal of making the campus safer.

Still, for the heartbroken mother, those changes haven't brought answers.
"What if i was your mom? How would she feel? I don't think they would want their mom to feel the same way I'm feeling," Payne added.
