The cause of the fire was unknown at this time.
Deputy Fire Chief Tommy Dale said a family of three, including an 11-year-old child, was able to make it out of the burning home.
"Something made some noise, he [the father] woke up and when he got to the door, fire met him at the door and they went out the back of the house," Dale said.
Firefighters were working on extinguishing any lingering hotspots.
The residence was severely damaged in the blaze. The neighboring home was also damaged.
