Authorities began investigating after a man suffering from a gunshot wound showed up at an area hospital.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said they received several calls of shots fired overnight Monday.
One of the incidents happened near a BP gas station on Murfreesboro and Una Antioch Pike around 10:15 p.m.
About 30 minutes later, a man claiming he had been shot showed up at Southern Hills Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the buttock after someone dropped him off at the hospital.
Police were still investigating, but the shooting may have happened when a man approached the victim asking for a cigarette.
The victim was expected to make a full recovery. However, police said he is still being uncooperative.
