Hearing Set For Teacher Accused Of Recording Students

Posted

A hearing is scheduled for a former Metro teacher accused of secretly recording his students while they undressed.

Jarrett Jones was arrested Monday after a fellow teacher reportedly discovered questionable videos on his computer and called police.

A hearing has been scheduled for 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, however NewsChannel 5 has learned that he won’t be in court.

The 31-year-old has been charged with secretly recording dozens of elementary school students.

Detectives said he admitted to setting up a camera inside a closet while he worked at Napier Elementary and allegedly recorded at least 40 students changing clothes.

The District Attorney's Office met with parents of the alleged victims Tuesday night. The meeting was behind closed doors, but NewsChannel 5 spoke to one of the mothers right after it ended.

"I'm shocked, I'm mad, I'm upset, I'm just... I'm - oh my God, I can't tell you,” she said.

Jones' bond was set at $100,000.

The hearing could reveal more about his bond, and potentially more details about a case that has affected dozens of local students.
