Man Rescued After Falling Down River Embankment

A homeless man has been rescued after falling down an embankment near the Cumberland River.

The incident happened Wednesday morning near mile marker 173 of the river, which is near Interstate 40 in West Nashville off of River Road.

Authorities confirmed the man did not fall into the water, but it was difficult to reach him from land. Boats were used to rescue the man.

He was taken by boat to the Commodore Yacht Club where he was then transported to the hospital. The extent of his injuries was unknown.
