A man has been recovering after being stabbed near a South Nashville Walmart.
The incident happened around 11:30 p.m. Thursday at the Walmart on Nolensville Pike.
According to police, the victim was stabbed in the ribs. Walmart security officers were the ones who first reported the incident.
At first, firefighter paramedics examined him, but they said he refused treatment.
Officers added the man also refused to tell them what had happened to cause his injury.
However, officers were at the Walmart not long after the initial call on an unrelated call, and the victim from the stabbing earlier walked up and requested medical treatment.
The fire department transported him to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Police said they believe the victim has been homeless and was staying in the woods nearby.
