A man has been arrested in the stabbing and beating death of a female friend who was found dead at an apartment complex.
Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department were called to the 1000 block of Thompson Place, located not far from Murfreesboro Pike, around 4:40 a.m. Friday.
Friday evening, police said they arrested 53-year-old Toby N. Tassmer in the death of 58-year-old Robin E. Bell.
Initially, reports stated someone reportedly found Bell's body inside the Terrace Hill apartments and called police.
Authorities released information saying it was Tassmer who called 911.
He was detained at the scene and interviewed, which was when police said he admitted to killing Bell. He allegedly used a knife and a beer stein.
According to neighbors, the two were heard arguing early Friday morning.
Tassmer has been charged with criminal homicide. He was being held in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
