Road work on Interstate 65 this weekend wrapped up early.
Those with the Tennessee Department of Transportation said the work was part of a project to widen Interstate 65 from six lanes to ten lanes from Trinity Lane to Dickerson Road.
Crews started opening new southbound lanes last weekend, and with the good weather, they decided to push ahead to get all of the remaining lanes, north and southbound, open this weekend.
They finished early, wrapping up by 6:30 a.m. Sunday.

The project wasn’t scheduled to be completely finished until later in spring, but for now, all new travel lanes have been opened.
