Good Samaritans inside an IHOP helped a family after a road rage incident spilled over into the restaurant’s parking lot.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the family members were traveling along Old Hickory Boulevard in Nashville when their car overheated.

The scene blocked traffic, causing a suspect identified as Bo Leath, to become agitated and start yelling.

The family managed to get their car into the parking lot of an IHOP when Leath allegedly got out of his car and walked toward the family while holding a knife.

At that moment, the employees saw what was happening and ran out to help the family.

Police said Leath eventually backed off and left.

The suspect was later picked up by police and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
