A unique highway sign program has been unveiled in Middle Tennessee.
The very first sign in the program has paid tribute to Tyler Head.
Head was a student on his way to class at Austin Peay when he was killed four years ago in an impaired driving crash.
On Friday, friends, family, and many others gathered in Clarksville to see the sign unveiled.
The sign read: "Impaired Driving Costs Innocent Lives. In Memory of Tyler Head."
The family said they hope the new sign program will turn a tragedy into an opportunity to raise awareness.
Later this summer, drivers will be able to check out the Tennessee Department of Transportation website to read more about how to apply for a sign recognizing victims of DUI crashes.
