A teenager from Iowa has been identified as a victim in a Davidson County crash involving a motorcycle and an SUV.
The incident happened around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday on River Road near Indian Creek Road.
Officials with Metro Nashville Police said 49-year-old Scott Van Eaton, of Fontanelle, Iowa, was riding a motorcycle with his daughter, Zoey, when he lost control of the bike while negotiating a curve.
The motorcycle slid into oncoming traffic and was struck by a Subaru.
The SUV driver told police she couldn’t avoid the collision.
Both victims were taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where Zoey was pronounced deceased. Her father, Scott, remained in critical but stable condition.
The other driver was not hurt.
Police said there was no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement at the scene on the part of either driver.
