The group began at Centennial Park around 4 p.m. Saturday before taking to the streets.
They held signs saying both "Black Lives Matter" and "All Lives Matter."
Police escorted the group down many streets before they stopped at a major intersection on West End Avenue and sat down, blocking the road. Officers appeared to be rerouting traffic around the event.
Authorities could be seen on scene to ensure the protest remained peaceful.
At one point, Sky5 flew over an incident involving what appeared to be a fight between a few protesters and a couple of people in a car.
One protester was taken into custody. Officers with the Metro Nashville Police Department identified the man as 23-year-old Chase Detrick who jumped onto someone's car.
Detrick allegedly yelled, "I am a revolutionary!" before jumping on the hood. The sign he was carrying covered part of the windshield.
He jumped down when officers approached; however, authorities said he continued yelling and refused to put his hands behind his back.
The driver left the scene before being identified.
Detrick was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. His bond was set at $2,000.
Organizers of the event said his arrest was an isolated incident.
