RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. – A fugitive from Kentucky was arrested Wednesday following a traffic stop in Rutherford County.
The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office said 37-year-old Cornelius Baskin was charged with being a fugitive from justice after a traffic stop Wednesday on Interstate 24 near Murfreesboro.
A warrant check found he was wanted by U.S. Marshals for a federal parole violation out of Warren County, Kentucky. He faced federal drug charges for distribution of cocaine and skipped town before an appearance in federal court.
Baskin was booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center where a hearing on the fugitive charge is set for May 27 in General Sessions Court. He was released to the U.S. Marshals Service and Kentucky authorities.
