The lighting of the Metro Nashville Christmas tree has been scheduled and everyone has been invited to attend.
The event has been set to take place at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 4 on the Public Square downtown.
Organizers said there will be food, hot beverages, live music, and fun for the whole family.
The celebration has then been scheduled to continue on Saturday, December 5 at 10 a.m. as the 62nd annual Nashville Christmas Parade marches down Broadway.
Officials with Piedmont Natural Gas said they hope the move to the new route and day will alleviate traffic and parking concerns.
This year's theme is "Miracle on Broadway."
The route has been set to begin at the intersection of 8th Avenue and Broadway, head east on Broadway to Second Avenue, cross over the Cumberland River, and end at the base of the Woodland Street Bridge.
