Memphis police say a man who initially reported that his girlfriend shot herself has been arrested in her death.
Media outlets report 35-year-old Donald Dodd was charged with reckless homicide in the Jan. 21 shooting of his girlfriend, Rachel Pool.
According to a police affidavit, Dodd told police that the gun went off in their apartment as he was trying to take it from her.
Dodd is being held in jail on a $200,000 bond. It wasn't immediately known whether he has an attorney.
