A man has been arrested in connection to a vehicle theft and a murder in Lawrence County.
Officials with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office and the Neshoba County, Mississippi Sheriff’s Office worked together to take 39-year-old Howard Jason Stewart into custody.
Stewart was wanted in the theft of a motor vehicle. He’s also a person of interest in the homicide of Barbara Harris.
Officials said the truck he stole belonged to Harris.
Both Stewart and the truck were found by officials with the Neshoba County Sheriff’s Department and the Choctaw Police Department at a casino in Philadelphia, Mississippi.
Reports stated Stewart was being held in custody in Neshoba County awaiting extradition back to Tennessee to face criminal charges.
