Man Arrested With Meth After Barricade Situation

A man has been arrested in possession of meth following a barricade situation in Mt. Juliet.

The incident began around 8 p.m. Monday on Chatsworth Drive in the Townhouses of Hickory Hills.

Reports stated an officer attempted to stop a man with an active warrant out for his arrest who had stepped outside of a home in that area.

The man the ran back into the home and barricaded himself inside.

It was learned a woman was willingly inside the home with the suspect. She came outside at the request of a negotiator.

Communication with the man inside lasted awhile as emergency crews attempted to get him to surrender.

A gas irritant was deployed into the home during the incident.

Officials said the suspect surrendered peacefully around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

He identity had not been released, and authorities confirmed charges were pending.

Officers found the man in possession of around 16 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Neighbors in the area were made aware of the situation as a precaution. No injuries were reported in the incident.
